Porubsky’s – Transcendent Deli follows Matt Porubsky on his journey to discover the history and appeal of the business his grandparents began over sixty years ago. Through the years, CW Porubsky’s Deli and Tavern has survived fires and floods, has been recognized locally and nationally as a culinary legend and has become a second home to thousands of its patrons with its atmosphere and aromas. Matt’s search leads hims to tight-lipped family members, gossiping great-aunts and hot pickle tastings on the streets of Topeka to reveal the greatness that began in a little red shack across the tracks in “Little Russia.”
Interview with Matthew Porubsky about “Porubsky’s – Transcendent Deli,” a documentary film that is currently in production in Topeka, Kansas. The film centers on C.W. Porubsky’s Deli and Tavern and its 60 + years of service, through flood, fire, and sweeping changes in the city.

I’m excited to see this film one day. I’ve been going to the deli since I was born, and my father has too. I hope maybe you could make down to Wichita to show the film. If not I understand, I’m hoping to make it to one of your showings. Good luck on finishing and I hope you found what you were looking for.
Peace.
By the way your pickles make the day after thanksgiving turkey sandwich out of this world.
